In the morning of the attack, he was waiting for medical treatment at a hospital near Kibbutz Alumim. When he heard of the situation, he left to help. At 10:50 he contacted his friends on WhatsApp and informed them that he was shot twice in the foot. Since then, he has gone missing. On January 31, 2024, it was revealed that Ran was killed in battle on October 7 and he is classified as a fallen soldier kidnapped in the Gaza Strip. Sudthisak was kidnapped from Kibbutz Be'eri. He was murdered while working in the plantations near the kibbutz. On May 16, 2024, the IDF spokesman announced that his family had been informed that he was murdered on October 7 and that his body is being held by Hamas.
